The VIP Booker can be used for a multitude of applications. In general we distinguish two types of applications: using the VIP Booker to sell something (commerce) or using the VIP Booker to gather information (registration)

After reading this article you will understand the difference between a commerce and a registration VIP Booker

Let's dive in

Commerce VIP Booker

The commerce VIP Booker is used when you want to sell something and transact. When you wet up a commerce VIP Booker you will sell seats, potentially with hospitality and/or other products. You will have to make sure pricing is correctly configured, as well as VAT rates etc.

To finalise the transaction your customer will have to register and approve the purchase. A sale with a certain value is created in the iXpole Back Office. For the payment of this purchase, there are two options:

1. Online Payment
Either the purchaser is expected to pay for the products immediately, while he is online.
The finalisation of the sale will depend on the successful conclusion of an online payment.

In this scenario we'll have to make sure your iXpole environment is connected to a PSP (Payment Service Provider). You will have to have a contract with this PSP according to which the PSP acquires the online transaction and then wires you the money.

2. Payment on invoice
You could also decide to allow purchasers to confirm their purchase without paying for it online/upfront.
In this scenario, the purchase will be logged as a Final Sale in the iXpole Back Office. The payment status will be marked as 'To Do'. Meaning that an invoice has to be issued for this Sale.

Registration VIP Booker

The registration VIP Booker is used when you want to collect information. The most common use case is to use the VIP Booker to allow people to enrol for something. Though internally, the iXpole Back Office still registers an enrolment as a Sale, the Sale is a 0-value sale. It therefore does not require settling a payment.

The most relevant use cases are the use of the VIP Booker to allow people to enrol for a partnership- or any other event.
