Configuring Functions

A Function gives a user an action on a supported iXpole object. It can run a Task or use a direct link.

In this article you will learn how to add and manage a Function

Add a Function

  1. Open Admin >> Workflow and click Add in Functions.
  2. Select the Object where the function should appear.
  3. Enter a Title and Description. Add an Icon if it helps users recognize the action.
  4. Select the Task the function should run. If you enable Direct Link, enter the task hash or direct-link value required by your integration instead of choosing from the task list.
  5. Set Active. Choose whether the function should run asynchronously, reload the page, or ask the user for confirmation.
  6. Click Save.

Function settings

Change a Function

On Admin >> Workflow, select a function from the Functions list to edit it. Use its active control to enable or disable it. Removing a function removes that user action; check where it is used first.

To confirm the result, open a record of the selected object type and check the custom function menu. Run it only with a safe test record. For a task-backed function, use the task's History tab to inspect the run.

Note A function's behavior depends on the selected object and its linked task or direct link. Configure and test the task separately before making the function available to users.
