Replacing a Ticket gives it a new barcode and makes the old barcode invalid. Use this when an eligible ticket needs to be reissued. You can also let iXpole replace tickets automatically when an entrance or existing guest changes.

In this article you will learn how to configure and replace tickets

Let's get you started

  1. Configure automatic replacement
  2. Replace one ticket manually
  3. Check the replacement

Configure automatic replacement

Start under Admin >> Tickets >> Barcodes. Turn on replacement when a ticket's entrance changes if your organisation needs a new barcode after a move to another entrance. You can separately turn on replacement when an existing guest is changed or removed. Both settings are off until you enable them. Assigning a first guest does not replace the ticket.

Automatic replacement applies only to eligible tickets. For example, a scanned ticket or a ticket with a fixed or external barcode cannot be replaced. If you change several tickets, iXpole saves the changes and replaces the eligible tickets.

Replace one ticket manually

Open the Ticket and go to its action log. Choose the replacement action, enter a reason, and confirm. The reason helps colleagues understand why the barcode changed. The replacement carries over the relevant ticket details and active Hospitality.

Check the replacement

Open the action log of either ticket. Both logs record the reason, the old and new barcodes, and a link to the other ticket. When an entrance change caused the replacement, the logs also show the previous and new entrance.

Note

Once a ticket is replaced, its old barcode no longer grants entry. Send or distribute the replacement ticket to the holder if they need a new copy.
