Connect iXpole to ChatGPT

Add the iXpole MCP App as a custom plugin in ChatGPT. Select iXpole in a conversation whenever you want to work with your iXpole information.

In this article you will learn…

What you need, how to add iXpole to ChatGPT and how to check the connection.

In this article:

Before you begin

You need:

  • A ChatGPT account that allows you to add and use custom MCP plugins.
  • An active iXpole MCP App for your organisation.
  • The API key from the MCP App in iXpole. Copy it from the app. If you cannot access it, ask your iXpole administrator.

Your account and workspace settings determine which options are available.

The MCP server address is https://apps.ixpole.com/ai/mcp.

Add ?code= to the address, followed immediately by your API key:

https://apps.ixpole.com/ai/mcp?code=YOUR_API_KEY

Replace YOUR_API_KEY with the complete API key copied from the MCP App in iXpole. Include all characters, including any = characters at the end. Do not add spaces or quotation marks.

For example, the fictitious API key Example123 gives this address:

https://apps.ixpole.com/ai/mcp?code=Example123

Use the complete address in ChatGPT's Server URL field. The API key is separate from the temporary six-digit authenticator code used when you sign in personally.

Note The complete address contains your API key. Hide it in screenshots and do not include it in public documents. The No authentication option below means that ChatGPT does not open a separate sign-in page; iXpole still checks the API key in the address.

Add the connection

Start in ChatGPT on the web.

  1. Open ChatGPT Plugins.
  2. Select + >> Add custom MCP server.
  3. Enter iXpole as the name. A description is optional.
  4. Under Connection >> Server URL, paste the complete address, including ?code= and your API key.
  5. Choose No authentication. No separate OAuth details are needed.
  6. Review the access notice. Confirm if you are using the iXpole address and your organisation's API key.
  7. Select Create as a plugin, then install the plugin.
  8. In a new conversation, type @ and select iXpole.

If an option is missing, ask your workspace administrator which settings apply to your account.

Check that iXpole is available as an installed plugin.

Check the connection

Start a new conversation and select iXpole. Ask:

Use iXpole. Which iXpole organisation am I connected to?

Check the name in the response. If another organisation appears, ask your administrator to check the address and API key.

Continue with Create Reports and Receiver Lists with AI.

Troubleshooting

What to do
You cannot find the option to add an MCP server.
Ask your ChatGPT administrator whether custom plugins are allowed for your account.
The plugin is added but does not work in your conversation.
Check that it is installed and select iXpole with @.
The connection is rejected.
Ask your administrator to check the complete address, API key and app activation.
A new feature is missing.
Refresh the connection in the app settings to retrieve its current features.
