There are a couple of minor and subtle differences between a regular Sale and a Credit Sale.

After reading this article you will know how to edit/modify a Credit Sale and you will be able to recognise one.

Let's get you started

  1. What Products can be sold in a Credit Sale?
  2. How to spot a Credit Sale?

1. What Products can be sold in a Credit Sale?

A Credit Sale doesn't manage or release inventory articles (like Seats or Parking). It is purely an iXpole tool to allow you to create a sale with negative value so that a customer can get some money reimbursed via a Credit Note

As a consequence you will only be able to register Catalog Products in a Credit Sale.

Note: We would even recommend that you create specific Catalog Products for use in a Credit Sale. e.g. you could consider creating Catalog Products like 'Reimbursement' or 'Compensation', ...

When you have initiated a Credit Sale, you can add the Catalog items to the Sale by clicking on Add

Just like with any other Sale, make sure to generate the Invoices and then Save as Final.

2. How to spot a Credit Sale?

In the sales input screen you will notice that the Sale is marked as 'Credit'.

In the sales overview dashboard, the Type of Sale will also be marked as 'Credit'

When Invoices are transmitted to your accounting system to generate Invoice Documents, your accounting system now knows it doesn't have to generate an invoice but a credit note for this Sale.
