The Accounts configuration is crucial to a correct use of the iXpole platform. To correctly configure the iXpole Accounts however, it is necessary to fully understand the iXpole terminology related to the Accounts.

After reading this article, you will understand the Accounts related terminology, required to further dive into the correct configuration of the platform. You will not only understand the terminology, but also the relationship between the different concepts.

Let's get you started

Here is an overview of the different terms used in iXpole.

Account

An Account is a company (Business) or individual (Private) with whom you have entered into a commercial relationship.

Note: this Account can either be a prospect or a client you already sold to.

Account Overview Page

The Account Overview Page is a listing page that displays the list of all Accounts, Contacts Persons, and Addresses. This page can be used to filter those using different criteria or search for one specific entry.

Account record

The Account Record is the record where you can find all the different information related to a specific Account:

  • The Account main information
  • The additional information section
  • The action logging section
  • The Accounts history section

Note: we strongly recommend you have a look at the dedicated article of each of those sections to have a deeper understanding.

Contact

A Contact is an individual that has a role within the Account. In the case of the Account being a Business, you can add as many Contacts as you need to the Account record.
Each of the Contacts then has its own record with dedicated information. You will find the details in the related article.

It is important to note that one Contact can be linked to different Accounts. E.g. a person who is commercial director for one Account but  board member for another Account
